We were delighted by the Hotel Agora Juan de Austria. Our room was spacious with both a desk and an armchair and without any sense of being cramped. A good window provided light and fresh air as required. This all sounds obvious and routine but somehow it all seemed better than we'd expected. The staff were helpful, attentive and friendly and the room was spotlessly maintained. The area around the hotel, this corner of Chamberí, is wonderful, with local bars, restaurants and cafés, and small supermarkets. We found it easy to walk to Gran Vía and back; the centre of Madrid is nearer than it seems. And it's pretty easy to walk to Real Madrid's stadium, too.

Hotel Agora was our home in Madrid for a week and we are very satisfied with this choice. The hotel is excelent located, with 3 metro stations accesible in 5 minutes walk. 3 metro stations to Puerta del Sol, about 15 'min. A lot of restaurants, terraces and shops in the neighbourhood (Quevedo area and calle de Fuencarral). Yet, the environment is quiet. The rooms are quite large with very confortable beds. Very tasty, fresh and reach breakfast. Also, we had our beds every day arranged, towels changed, cleaning was impeccable. Perfect choice for classic style&confort lovers.

Very much enjoyed my stay. Have just written about it on Facebook. The room was excellent. It was clean and had a nice view from the balcony. I loved the breakfast in the morning. Staff could speak English and that was a major help. The location was great--not far from the centre. There were some nice restaurants and cafes in the Plaza de Olavide round the corner. Bilbao metro stop is only a coupe of minutes away. The quality of your staff is a major bonus. The free taxi ride from the airport also made things much easier.

If you want a local feel, out of the busy tourist area, the location of this hotel is in a wonderful neighborhood with small, tree-lined squares, local restraurants and shoppes providing bakery, fresh fruit/veggies, artisan items and curated clothing, jamon, and more. There are several Metro stops within easy walking distance to provide you with transport anywhere in Madrid. I loved the spacious bathroom with a deep soaking tub and shower combo. There is a small fridge and a kettle for self-catering breakfasts.

Location of the hotel is in quiet residential zone, but sill really close to Madrid center even by walk. Breakfast is good, some would say monotonous, because it is mostly the same every day, but not for us since we could pick from variety of hams, cereals, jams, yoghurts, juices including freshly squeezed orange juice etc. Air conditioner works perfectly, as well as WI-FI, at least in our room. There are good cafes and restaurants around, like Arya.
